National Conference on Conservation of Sacred Groves 2010-11

| CPR Environmental Education Centre convened a National Conference on Conservation of Sacred Groves for Protection of Local Biodiversity in Chennai from February 12-14, 2011. The programme was inaugurated by Shri.R. Sundararaju, I.F.S., Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Chief Wildlife Warden, Forest Department, Government of Tamilnadu at Puthupet. Dr. P.S. Ramakrishnan, INSA Honorary Senior Scientist, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi, delivered the keynote address. During the conference, 38 eminent speakers presented their paper on specific issues of the sacred groves. Shri. K.S.Sripathi, IAS (Retd) was the chief guest for the valedictory function. |
